Maddie
At the age of 3, Gan Ning Xuan began ballet at the Federal Academy of Dance (FAB) in Kuala Lumpur. In 2014, she moved to Sandance Ballet Studio and has continued with them until she completed her RAD Advanced 2 exam in 2017.
In that same year, she was a finalist in the 20th TDS Ballet competition and she graduated from DPAC’s Dancer’s Training Programme, where she studied under numerous local and international guest dancers such as J.S Wong, Low Ming Yam, and Raymond Chai. In 2020, she completed her Bachelor’s in Dance (Performance), majoring in Bharatanatyam, and was awarded the Best Student of her Year at the National Heritage and Culture Academy (ASWARA).
In ASWARA, she learned numerous styles of dance such as traditional Chinese dance, Malay dance, classical Indian dance, ethnic dances (Sabah and Sarawak), contemporary dance and ballet.
In December 2020, Gan joined ASK Dance Company as a full-time dancer for two years, performing numerous traditional and multicultural repertoire.
In 2022, she received her Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing teaching certificate (Associate’s). In that same year, she completed her Bharatanatyam Arangetram (classical solo debut), under the guidance of Master Sri Shankar Kandasamy and Shrimati Vasuki Sivanesan, at the Temple of Fine Arts Kuala Lumper.
She has participated in numerous festivals, such as Citrawarna (2017), KL Genta Festival (2017), KL International Arts Festival (2017), KL Living Arts Festival, Tari 19’ (2019), Swan Festival of Lights (2020), Georgetown Festival (2021), Khajuraho Dance Festival (2022), and so on. Currently, she is a ballet teacher under DancingTime Academy.
